Ilco Honda S600 Blank Replacement Keys

These blank Ilco branded keys just arrived from USA today. These keys have made in Canada stamped over it. These must be duplicates of blanks or perhaps the new key itself. They are meant to fit the steering keyhole since the original owner has lost them. I have to look for a skilled locksmith to duplicate the key and mold it into shape. If anyone has contacts to them in Ipoh, let me know!

Honda S600 Keihin Quad Sidedraft carburetors

My crucial part for my Honda S600 engine has arrived today. Thank god for ebay, everything is now easily bought on the Internet. Here's snapshots of it being opened up and being inspected. It will be overhauled and installed once the engine is overhauled as well. Now I shall wait for the arrival of my car weatherstrip and run-channeling rubbers for my coupe to proceed with body works.

Honda N360 in Vietnam

I have recently returned from Vietnam and spotted the great grandfather to the Honda Civic (as opposed to my S600 being the direct ascendant of the Honda S2000). Man the car has grown up in size, from a 360cc kei-car hatchback to a full sized 2 litre FD2 sedan. Lots of history into Honda engineering but they still make decent cars after 42 years! Check out the pictures

Listed my ride on Photobucket

I guess I'm pretty lazy to update pictures of my car on this blog, so I created a gallery in my photobucket. Here's pictures of the car taken by my DSLR. Enjoy!

Honda S600's pink registration slip

Here's the updated pink registration card. Well, more to come, but you could notice the glaring differences between the old and new, especially the Malay language used in the older days.

Honda S600 original Japanese ad TV airing

Looking at the ads, you are convinced by Honda's 1965 roots to F1 and you are definitely intrigued by the DOHC layout at that age. Go high revving engine!

Honda S600 registration card and chassis sticker

This is something you don't see everyday. An older blue colored registration card with the older currency writing ($ instead of RM). This card is the one before the red printed registration card that you usually see nowadays. It's rather funny to see the registration card list this car as a 4 seater, when ultimately it only has 2 seats! I guess this car is exempted by JPJ in case of a roadblock! I guess most cars in the past were mostly able to seat up to 4 seats.

Evolution of Honda Motorsports

This video is self-explanatory, no need for further explanation! Anyways, look out at the front and tail lamps resemblance to older model :D

My new ride - Soichiro Honda's pride - Honda S600 Fastback Coupe

I've actually found a really rare ride that I wouldn't expect to bump in Malaysia. This car was featured in the Gran Turismo 4 video game and I did noticed the resemblance. Much of googling has led me to believe that this car is the Honda S600. I even have the much rarer variant of the two, the fastback coupe, as opposed to the convertible/hardtop. Theres only 1800 of these fastback coupe ever sold, not too sure how many of them remain and left. This car is purely orgasmic. Its redline is at 9500 RPM and could safely go up to 11000 RPM without any problems. This car is a pure mini go-cart and could join most k-car competitions without any problems.

Some facts about the S600:

* First Honda car offered in two trims
* Engine capacity 606 cc
* Horse power: 57 at 8500 rpm
* Top speed: 90 mph
* Redline: 9,500 RPM
* Carburetors: 4
* Convertible weight: 1576 pounds
* First "mass marketed" Honda car
* 11,284 built between '64 and '66

W202 AMG twin pipe rear exhaust and mid box

Bought this off a friend who used to have a C-class. Now I am trying to complete the looks of my car, with the Carlsson tips! Hehe. I can't wait how this exhaust would sound.
