Happy Halloween to all readers!

To end my final posting for the month. I wish all readers, Happy Halloween!

EON's refusal led to mishap, says exco man

Why am I not suprised at this article? My Proton has been run into numerous problems. Some were probably life-risking and all! My ABS module failed within 2 years of ownership and right after the warranty period! Look at what Malaysians can do? Read below

SHAH ALAM: EON's alleged refusal to service the state-owned car of Ronnie Liu nearly cost him his life.
Liu, who is the Local Government, Research and Development Committee chairman, said his Proton V6 Executive bonnet flew open and smashed into the windscreen when he was travelling on the Federal Highway at 8.30pm on Thursday.

"I was on my way back from a dinner when the bonnet suddenly opened and hit the windscreen.

"My driver was shocked and stopped the car because the windscreen was blocked and he could not see anything.

"We were lucky because the car behind us was quite a distance away, so they managed to avoid us," said an angry Liu.
He said that on Friday last week, his driver had taken the 4-year-old car to EON Service Centre in Glenmarie because he found it hard to shut the bonnet.

However, his driver was declined service as the staff at the service centre claimed that the state government still owed them money from previous repair jobs.

"They told my driver that the state government had not settled certain bills and would not accept our cars for repairs.

"But this is not an excuse.

"When there's something wrong with the bonnet, you should know that it could come up and hit the windscreen.

"How can EON mechanics let go of such a thing?" asked Liu, who demanded an explanation from the service centre on its safety procedures.

Liu said this was another reason why the state government should switch to other more economical cars.

"Because of budget constraints, the exco had not made any decisions.

"But after this incident, I will ask the exco to speed up the matter and definitely not use Proton cars any more."

He said since he began using the car, the maintenance cost had already reached more than RM30,000.

He added that he would check with the state government to verify the EON centre's claim.

He would also lodge a police report and file an official complaint with Proton.

When informed of the incident, service centre manager Shamsudin Abdullah said they would repair Liu's Proton V6 Executive as soon as possible.

He said the incident should have been avoided as the state government was EON Glenmarie's loyal customer.

But a source from EON said the state government owed the service centre RM120,000.

Dozens Of Call Center Workers Walk Off Job In Protest Rather Than Read McCain Script Attacking Obama

Dozens Of Call Center Workers Walk Off Job In Protest Rather Than Read McCain Script Attacking Obama
By Greg Sargent - October 27, 2008, 5:18PM

Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.

Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

Williams' daughter told her that up to 40 of her co-workers had refused to read the script, and had left the call center after supervisors told them that they would have to either read the call or leave, Williams says. The call center is called Americall, and it's located in Hobart, IN.

"They walked out," Williams says of her daughter and her co-workers, adding that they weren't fired but willingly sacrificed pay rather than read the lines. "They were told [by supervisors], `If you all leave, you're not gonna get paid for the rest of the day."

The daughter, who wanted her name withheld fearing retribution from her employer, confirmed the story to us. "It was like at least 40 people," the daughter said. "People thought the script was nasty and they didn't wanna read it."

A second worker at the call center confirmed the episode, saying that "at least 30" workers had walked out after refusing to read the script.

"We were asked to read something saying [Obama and Democrats] were against protecting children from danger," this worker said. "I wouldn't do it. A lot of people left. They thought it was disgusting."

This worker, too, confirmed sacrificing pay to walk out, saying her supervisor told her: "If you don't wanna phone it you can just go home for the day."

The script coincided with this robo-slime call running in other states, but because robocalling is illegal in Indiana it was being read by call center workers.

Representatives at Americall in Indiana, and at the company's corporate headquarters in Naperville, Illinois, didn't return calls for comment.

Well I guess humans still have ethical obligations and all. I totally salute these guys who risk their pay for doing what is right.

hp Modern Living

I went to 1 Utama last week and went to this exhibition. I get to see how hp incorporates modern living with computers. I was impressed with the large touch screen monitor on the hp Desktop. I guess this is what I want to do, when I ever buy a house.

Midvalley free vouchers : Part II

So I went up two floors, to Kenko Fish Spa. The Microsoft voucher states "10 minutes trial fish spa". So I went out and had a look myself. The usual 30 minutes per hour fish spa costs RM38 (10 USD). So I guess I am having about RM10 value of fish-spa time. Well, this was totally new to me, I never had this before, though my first experience was pretty cool. When I put down my legs, the little fishes, called Dr. Fish, actually bites me and nibbles on my dead skin. My god, those fishes was happy, when they saw my legs, LOL. I was in the pool with the smaller fishes, but I felt yeah I guess I'm used to the biting, so I head on the bigger ones. So I stood up and sat on the pool with bigger fishes. Oh wow, they were really biting. Truth be told, it felt like electric current going through your skin, like an electric massage. It was fun, but a real session would be too expensive. You could tell why there isn't much people there at this hour! It's something you could do once a month, but too expensive on daily routine.

Midvalley free vouchers : Part I

I received complimentary HP/Microsoft vouchers that gave me chances to try out most the stuffs in the market for free! Look at the vouchers! I have about 20 of them, but I am using these few, since they are free!

So the first voucher says, free Latte from San Francisco coffee.

I never had Latte before, this is my first time, I would usually end up with Mocha or Frappucino from Starbucks Coffee. Well, my first take on Latte is that, it tasted bland, much like some milkish cofee, but didn't tasted too bad either. I guess I have to learn to acquire the taste and all.

The Latte is actually worth RM7.50. I wonder if that's really worth it or not for a coffee I don't really like.

So next stop, I head 2 floors up to Kenko Fish Spa. Checkout what I do with the vouchers.

Touge with Tougeking on a blind night

Well, I was bored and so was TK. Since he messaged he was bored, I suggested touge! Well I'm sure he is bored because his friends aren't around to touge anyways, so why not suggest it? And this is the final touge I will do before my final examinations on November 18th! God, I hate examinations. I did not go all out on the touge, because I can't see anything, nor I want to risk myself being killed by my parents or lose my form of transportation to go to my college back again in KL. I dread riding the bus, the train and taxi altogether! Well, it was a good day to hone my skills. I used to touge more often with a buddy up Ulu Yam, but he was back in hometown, in Sandakan. Now that he is back, I intend to touge more often to polish my skills. Well, I had a great run and I thank Jeremy for coming. His car is fast and no doubt left lots of gap. I am certain my old Lancer GLXi could perform as good as his 1.8 Satria. Too bad I don't have it anymore. I'm forced to drive in a slow car, until I have money for a better one! Thanks for TK and Jeremy for taking out my boredom.

1/7 Scale Ayanami Rei Gothic Lolita version figurine

This particular figurine with a fully costumed Ayanami Rei is sculpted by Naoki Nishimura, produced by the Kotobukiya company. It is ultra sexy to see Ayanami Rei clad in gothic lolita clothing. Its rare and hard such figurines and I bet its definitely sold out by now. I managed to pre-book it at (RM245) ~ USD79.90, when the Malaysian currency was stronger back few months ago. Here are some pictures you can see to adore it! Enjoy!

Raymond Lam Fung (林峯) comes to town

Raymond Lam Fung is a Hong Kong TVB actor and singer. He was born into a wealthy family; has a younger brother and sister. His father is a real estate investor in Xiamen and was dubbed as the "Li Ka-shing of Xiamen". He officially became a singer in 2007 under Emperor Entertainment Group Label. His talent in acting and singing has been recognized by many people (mainly from Hong Kong, certain parts of China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and also in Canada and the U.S.).

Well he came to town. I am lucky to have front row seats facing him most of the time and I was able to be one of the few who got to meet him first on the stage and getting an autograph instantly. Poor students in TAR College have to wade through monstrous amounts of people. This celebrity is pretty popular in Hong Kong and he is featured in some Hong Kong Dramas. Here are some pictures of him.

Dell Vostro 1000

Bought these laptops at a very cheap price. I bought 3 of them at RM1400 per piece. They were AMD laptops with dual core processors. It was pretty full-spec'ed for a laptop. It came with the bare necessities, such as a DVD-RW and wireless. This is a very basic laptop, good for surfing the net, watching movies and burning media and all. I resold them to the staff at the same price, so that they get motivated at buying cheap things and hopefully they will do their work better in my dad's company.

Kampar's Curry Chicken Bread

This is one of my hometown's specialty, curry chicken bread. Basically, its just some curry chicken, wrapped inside a special water-resistant paper, being baked together with the dough. It produces a nicely shaped bun and mouth-watering curry chicken taste. It costs about RM22 (1 USD = RM 3.5). It's not too bad and my friend from Japan enjoyed it. Anyone up for Kampar food?

Lorry flipped over in North South Highway

While I was traveling home to Kampar on a heavy rain night. I had to slow down and encountered this large traffic jam. Apparently a truck flipped over, possibly rammed the middle barrier and then it happened. Here are some pictures to show whats happening.

Mitsubishi GTO

While this may seem to be an amazing car. It sort of is, for the fact that it is rare and exclusive in Malaysia. However like its sibling, the Mitsubishi FTO, both cars suck in power and handling. The FTO is heavy with the 2.0 V6 engine. (a 4g63 Mitsubishi Evo engine would fix it though) and the GTO 3.0 V6 suffers from the same problem. This is no NSX beater, nor it is faster than a Supra or a Skyline. Then again, it has the looks that mimics a Ferrari. But oh well, this car is really not that great.

Bumpy rides!

Well I was having bumpy rides when I was driving fast on the North South Highway. I was wondering what is wrong with the car? I just assumed it could be that I have swapped the tyres front to back without properly balancing it. I was wrong. One of the rims from the back, that was shifted to the front was seriously crooked. It was just rotating unevenly. I wonder if it is safe for touge. I need to get it fixed but I am so stuck on money. Donations anyone? LOL. Thanks to my father's friend shop, J-Wing in Kampar. (Too bad he doesn't do alignment)
