The day of weird number plate spotting

This is the first time I encountered a UK registered CLS number plated car near Summit and a Subaru Outback near Damansara Toll off NKVE. I thought it was a Japanese number plate for the Subaru, as they come in white background and green lettering. But I was wrong, a closer look at the car disclosed that it had alphabets on the number plates. (GM 59, MA 2509) Any idea what number plates are that anyways?
